Ulterior Motive is a design label that aims to be an alternative to the mainstream, by any means necessary. When it comes to men’s ties their philosophy is that you can wear a tie almost anytime. The reason why nobody does this today is that the ties that you find in stores are either meant for business or dinner parties. Why can't a man wear a tie at the weekend barbeque? Umotive strive to find new, modern ways of expressing class and style without loosing individuality. The tie is coming back as a casual everyday item and the now must have male fashion accessories.
Umotive’s first collection, launched in the summer of 2006 and consists of a set of ties with creative patterns and unexpected colours. The collection is divided into three areas, all connected by a uniform design philosophy, but distinctly targeted at different occasions: Business, Leisure and Rebel.
